Privacy
This notice explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it. It describes our handling of personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The controller is Overspike Single Member P.C., trading as Overspike, whose details are in the legal notice. For anything about your data, email hello@overspike.com.
Sending a project inquiry
The inquiry form lets you enter your name, work email, company, the offer you’re interested in and a short description of the work that takes your team’s time. When you submit the form, the website sends these details to our server (hosted by Cloudflare) and an email delivery service to forward your inquiry to our business inbox. You can also email us directly.
The website does not save these form answers in cookies or browser storage. Short-lived technical checks help prevent repeated or abusive submissions. We use the inquiry to assess your request and reply.
What this notice covers
It covers this website and inquiries you choose to send through the form or by email. Separate agreements govern client projects and any processing carried out for a client.
What we collect, why, and how long we keep it
When you visit the website
- What
- Technical request data: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. We don’t use it to identify you.
- Why
- To deliver the website, keep it secure, prevent abuse and fix errors.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
- How long
- Our hosting logs are kept for 3 days. Cloudflare may keep security records longer under its own policies.
When you send a project inquiry or email us
- What
- Your name, work email, company, the offer you’re interested in, and what takes your team’s time.
- Why
- To assess the inquiry, reply, arrange a call if useful and prepare a proposal if we agree to continue.
- Legal basis
- Our legitimate interest in answering business inquiries (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). Where you’re asking about working with us yourself, taking steps you requested before a contract (art. 6(1)(b)).
- How long
- 12 months after our last contact if the inquiry does not become a project. If it becomes a project, the relevant project, accounting and legal records follow their separate retention requirements.
If you become a client
- What
- Business contact details, the agreement, invoices and payment records.
- Why
- To carry out the agreement and keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.
- Legal basis
- The contract (art. 6(1)(b)) where you’re the party to it, otherwise our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)). Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)) for accounting and tax records.
- How long
- For the duration of the agreement, then for the retention periods required by applicable tax and accounting law.
We may also keep what we need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, for as long as such a claim could be brought (our legitimate interest, art. 6(1)(f)).
Where the data comes from
For inquiries, from the information you choose to send.
Who we share it with
We use a hosting provider to run the website, and email delivery and business email service providers to forward, receive and store inquiries. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
We also disclose data when the law requires it, for example to a tax authority or a court, or to protect our legal rights. If the business is ever reorganized or sold, data may pass to the successor, which must protect it in the same way.
We do not sell inquiry data or share it for advertising. We use it to assess your request and reply. Our accountant in Greece receives invoices for accounting purposes, not project inquiries. Invoices are also reported to the Greek tax authorities.
Transfers outside the EEA
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, is a U.S. company and certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; its data processing addendum also includes the EU standard contractual clauses. Our email service provider may process messages in countries outside the EEA where it or its subprocessors operate. Its data processing terms provide applicable standard contractual clauses or another recognized safeguard for restricted transfers covered by European data-protection law.
Email hello@overspike.com to request information or a copy of the applicable transfer safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct it if it’s wrong or incomplete;
- delete it;
- restrict how we use it, for example while we check a complaint;
- move it: receive it in a common format or have it sent to someone else, where that right applies.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. That doesn’t affect what we did before.
Your right to object. Where we rely on our legitimate interests, you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your situation. We’ll then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the data for legal claims. You can always object to direct marketing, and we’ll stop.
To use any of these rights, email hello@overspike.com. It’s free. We’ll reply within one month. If a request is complex, we may take up to two more months, and we’ll tell you why. We’ll only ask you to confirm your identity if we can’t otherwise be sure the request is yours.
Complaints
If you think we’ve mishandled your data, you can complain to a data protection authority, in particular in the EU country where you live, work or where the problem happened. The authority responsible for us is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority in Greece. You’re welcome to contact us first, but you don’t have to.
Do you have to give us your data?
No law or contract requires you to. If you don’t send us your contact details, we can’t reply. Technical data is needed for your browser to receive the pages.
Automated decisions
The website code does not make automated decisions about visitors or profile them.
Emails from us
We reply to inquiries. We do not currently send newsletters or use inquiry details for unrelated marketing.
Our social media profiles
The site links to our profile on X. It is a plain link: nothing loads from X until you click. Once you’re there, X’s privacy policy applies.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn’t directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal data to us, contact hello@overspike.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes to this notice
When we change this notice, we publish the revised version here and update the “Last updated” date above.
How to contact us about privacy
Email hello@overspike.com, or write to us at the address in the legal notice.
AI and the examples on this site
The examples on this site
The homepage tells its story with animated sample screens involving emails, quotes, invoices and tasks. They are illustrations:
- The names, messages, amounts, times and counts in them are made up. They aren’t real customers or real client data.
- No AI runs on this site. Controls in the sample screens change the illustration; they do not process real business data or perform external actions.
- Figures in the examples, such as the number of items handled, aren’t results, measurements or promises of what a project will achieve.
What a system can do for a business depends on its data and its processes. We set out what we expect for yours in a written proposal, before any work starts.
Terms of use
These terms cover your use of this website. They don’t cover client work.
Information, not an offer
The site describes our services in general terms. Nothing on it is an offer to enter a contract, and it isn’t legal, financial, technical or other professional advice for your situation.
Client work
Every project is covered by a separate written agreement. If that agreement and these website terms differ, the agreement governs the project.
We work with businesses. If you’d engage us as a private individual rather than for a business, tell us: consumer law then gives you extra information and cancellation rights, which your agreement will set out.
Using the site
Please don’t misuse it: don’t try to break into it, disrupt it or overload it, and don’t use it to spread malicious code.
Intellectual property
The site’s text, design, images and code, and the Overspike name and logo, belong to Overspike Single Member P.C. or its licensors. You may view the site, link to it and share links. Please don’t copy or reuse its content, design or code without our written permission.
Product names and logos of the tools we build with (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, AWS, NVIDIA, HubSpot and Intuit QuickBooks) and the other product names shown on this site are trademarks of their owners. We show them to say which tools we work with. Overspike is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by them.
Links to other sites
We link to other sites, such as our social media profiles. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
No warranties
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, express or implied, including of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website or reliance on its general information, including indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or under mandatory consumer law.
Severability
If a court finds any part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we haven’t given up the right to enforce it later.
Changes
We may update these website terms by publishing a revised version on this page.
Accessibility
The website uses headings, landmarks and keyboard focus styles.
The site has not had a full accessibility audit. Its animated examples are visual, so some details may not be available to people using assistive technology.
If you encounter a barrier, email hello@overspike.com with the page and what happened.
Security
To report a possible vulnerability in this website, email hello@overspike.com. Include the affected page, steps to reproduce the issue and a way to contact you. Do not include passwords or personal customer data.
Please avoid accessing other people’s data or disrupting the website. Client systems are outside the scope of this contact.
